I went with 2 different groups of friends, but ended up staying with my first group on the first day.
That group stayed in the anime section the whole day and I just stood there looking on and eventually split to see the console games, even though I don't own any consoles.. One of my "ghetto" black friend was saying he was going to buy some hentai dvd all day long. I was surprised when he actually walked up and bought it. One of my female friends actually chose the hentai for him.

Yeah...people are always hovering the game rooms, go figure. Me personally, I play fighting games, so I go to local events all the time. But the people at anime cons n shit are the guys who never see the light of day, and their egos get mad big when they finally muster the courage to come out to some event, which isn't even about video games 99% of the time, TO PLAY VIDEO GAMES.
Like some greasy ass dude who smells like mushrooms came up to me one time and tried to 'challenge' me to guitar hero because I got like a decent score on one song casually. I was like whatever, and then like some people came by to watch and he was looking mad nervous and sweating buckets. I ended up winning and he blamed the guitar peripheral iirc.
Anyways, going for video games at those places is never a good idea. Also, don't go to the late night panels. Oh man, the other year there was a late night panel with like, the nostalgia critic, and the room was literally packed front to back wall to wall with people who had been sweating and stinking all day, creating tons of body heat. It was like 110 degrees in that room on top of the smell of a high school locker room.
