I don't understand the time skip of the fucking series. First hokage was around when Tsunade was born, but Tsunade was a student of the third, who was around when the 2nd great ninja war happened. That shit confuses me so much I don't even care. I just assume anyone mentioned can still be alive at this point.

We don't know that it's between one of those two candidates for sure. It could be someone else.

First Hokage/Tsunades birth/Madara ------ Second Hokage Appointed ----- First shinobi world war, 2nd dies and 3rd is appointed ---- Second shinobi world war, Sannin fight Hanzo, Jiraiya teaches Nagato and those kids ----- Third Shinobi World War/12years before Naruto started, 4th Hokage appointed and dies, Kakashi is in his teens Nine tails sealed ----- Naruto starts and shit goes down ------ Shippuden starts ------- Fourth Shinobi world war and Tsunade is still alive and well. The fuck?

/E I fucked up some parts on the 3rd world war I think but who gives a fuck, I ain't fixing it.
