it was probably the talisman oro used to control the 2 that made them fight at such a level who knows but yeah just going by oro's weaker edo and a simple talisman kishi can explain it off as that
I guess Kishi had to throw SOMETHING out there to make that lackluster fight seem more in place than it actually is. I guess you could say that Oro's edo tensei sucked and he was fighting too so he couldn't sit down and control them etc. but I don't buy that completely. With how the story has progressed we now know that it was a lackluster fight compared to what it could have been and there's not a doubt in my mind that Kishi knows it too. Like I said, it's just an unfortunate situation and not that big of a deal really. I doubt even Kishi at that point knew if he was going to be adding things like Shinra Tensei, Madara's gigantic meteors, a susanoo with the power of a tailed beast, etc.
I still stand by my predicition that all of Naruto's friends are going to beat Madara. Come at me about that one, Kishi.
