I said that capturing the beasts was a given because the plot could not advance without it. Obviously it takes great skill or whatever to be able to take down the tailed beasts and all but it was going to happen 1 way or another anyway. I'm talking about them actually making a separate impact on the story by maybe changing the cast a little bit. You could substitute a lot of Akatsuki members with turtles and not much of the story would change.
there work is in the past it already affected the story its why naruto is so damn strong along with why the big 5 are working together what aka this huge damn war arc ty akatsuki
if you want something simple like a characters death or being influenced even more so kisame taught naruto with his death
kazu and hidan killed that fire nation monk dude
heck you said it yourself the plot could not advance without it lol what else is there akatsuki is the reason for the manga naruto
