the title's more to do with the setting & characters like.. uhm, how to put it.
ok so, take journey to the west for example. they could make a show (and they have, but w/e) called just that. coming to america, might change it to 'the adventures of monkey'.
tbh, they could change it to whatever the hell they want, but the original title is referring to a well-known, pre-existing set of stories.
altho the way they illustrated Monkey in all the kids books made it look like he was popping a mile-long red boner whenever his staff extended to vanquish temptress spider whores.
