Just turned an old playstation into an alarm clock hehe
kinda cool you pop open the lid of an original ps1 to see a digital alarm clock and press buttons for time etc
But i just took apart an alarm clock and replaced the internals of the ps1 with them. power cord is spliced in to the output so it just has a playstation power cord ya know.
i widened the video output to fit the alarm clock speaker, but i accidentally ruined the wire mesh that covered it so the speaker is open.
i wanna glue some cloth on to cover it off but i wont be able to take it apart again after that i think. and the missing internals on the inside left a big gap so the digital clock internals are pretty much just secured in there along with the display. if i can find a 8x8ish piece of hard plastic i'll be able to remake the inside so that everything looks smooth ya know. i was just going to cut the faceplate and the top off the clock and fit them in but the lid wont close and there will still be cracks if i do so the button and display housing needs to recut fresh.
btw did this with a lighter, Philips screw driver, steak knife, and a pair of pliers.
that's actually kinda cool. diy mods're badass.
reminds me of the pc shop in tokyo that subbed a mini htpc into a dreamcast.
or my all-time favorite, transformer onto a vibe.
