I'd say its just knowledge, which makes sense seing as just before he died he created the pirate age.
If Roger had come out with the story of the ancient kingdom and the 1000 missing years on his deathbed and then spread it all over the world before he died the marines would probably have had an easier time taking control of the pirates and random civilians.
When he created the pirate age he made sure the resistance against the marines would be alot bigger once the OP was found again.
In chapter 395 page 9 prof. Clover is talking about the ancient kingdom and just as he is about to say the name of the country, he is shot dead.
Something that hints to the one piece not being an actual item but rather a country.
i dont think one piece is a whole country but rather just the story/ history of the world cause u know the current world government pretty much took it over by force and such
i mean the current world government is so fucked its like
celestial dragons- 5 old marine dudes - Sengoku "the budda man" " fleet admiral" then the 3 admirals then vice admirals and etc
and the celestial dragons are the decedents of the kings of the old kingdom im assume its a group of kings that took the world by force and that war is apart 1000 years or something like that
but i defiantly dont think OP is a whole country with a population and such
