A generation refers to a contemporaneous group of individuals shaped by similar characteristics and attitudes.
They generally develop these through shared and common cultural (Edit: and/or social) experiences.

Konohamaru and his friends know nothing of the trials and tribulations Naruto and his friends have gone through in regards to Sauske and Akatsuki.
They don't have the same shared experiences and their attitude is likely to differ.
I would argue they belong to different generations.

Im not diverting hte problem, im taking the time to type out the responses. It takes a long time to load pages of manga on this connection so it takes a while to get my response.

there are seperate generations after jiraiya. Kakashi's group is the current generation. It has been said multiple times in the manga that the future of hte generation has been entrusted to Naruto's generation.



She was drinking all the time. Jiraiya described her lifestyle as going from town to town drinking and skipping out on gambling debts.

I doubt jiraiya was talking about him because he gets virtually no air time. Why would he be talking about a character that has like 2 pages in the whole shippuden series? He was talking about naruto since his generation is the main.

1 piece of proof is that tsunade was spending most of her time drinking and gambling before becoming hokage. Go look around in those chapters and look at her lifestyle as well as those guys in the gambling houses description of her. SOmething along the lines of "the legendary sucker" becuase of her addiction to gambling makes her keep going until shes broke.
