k so the elder son of the sage had rinnegan and his descendents were the uchiha (sharingan being a mutation from rinnegan)
this means that the elder son was the only one in the whole of uchiha to possessed rinnegan which he may have transfered into nagato
(meaning the uzumaki clan was somehow affiliated with the elder son)
madara must be a grandson or even the son of the elder son of the sage explaining how he knows something about nagato
at the konan vs tobi battle, konan says how rinnegan was nagato's eyes but tobi says he is merely taking back what was his at first

now i just noticed another thing
while zetsu is with tobi, he never once called him "madara"
seems kinda weird zetsu may be some sort of life form that existed prob back in the sage's time and is helping whoever tobi is
if tobi is actually the elder son of the sage then he must be trying to continue his revenge like back then when he was not chosen as the successor of the sage himself
instead the younger son was chosen and they fought
all explaining the hatred of the elder son toward younger + the whole ninja world

another thing, tobi shows how he knows a lot about the lore of the past about the sage/his sons/and history itself
