it was a necessary step for narutos character development naruto is trying to change the path of hatred and vengeance the idea that love brings hatred, and also this happend so naruto could better understand why sasuke left the village and why he is so driven on revenge naruto now knows what its like to lose a father figure cause he never had one before this is the first person to die that naruto made a connection to it was an important and good step to improve narutos character and show he is a different kind of person,
he is going to end the notion that love brings hate and war breeds more war he is going to bring a new era of thought and instill it into new generations and thus change the ninja world
i dont agree with the first part as he didnt plan that and didnt realize until he was already dead
and ur just talkin why it happened like your speaking through the writer. yes obviously that was the writers plan cuz it happened, if we were talkin about it like that i would say poorly written also i dont think it was a good step but thats just cuz i like jiraiya and dont care for sasuke but i guess he's to much the story but i thinkn it still would work if sasuke had died or something
but my main point was is how he died was stupid i thought, so poorly written as a lot of it is in its
consistency
