impure res only summons the soul into a living sacrifice, madara has to be dead from him to be used in the summoning

well tobi could be a clone of madara made with zetsu or sumtin cuz he uses the fan thing madara had right? and he says hes madara and same chakra could be very possible and since its just a clone it is a shell and madara could be revived with edo tensei cuz its not the real madara but a clone

a lot of chars in naruto died a long time ago which are still around.

If this is true, then I would expect him to get some sort of dojutsu, particularly the Rinnegan.

ya im expectin at the very end of the manga when he fights tobi (in 10 tail mode i think its gunna happen) who ever the fuk he is itl be after he fights sasuke so he will be weakened so he is about to die and then bam awakes reinnegan and just fuks shet up or sum new eye power

just noticed something

if madara was dead,

then tobi was the one who sent the nine tails that attacked leaf when 4th hokage was alive

and then upon the encounter with sasuke, the nine tails says something about how he despises uchiha madara and sharingan (this was early in shippuden)

so i dont think tobi could be OBITO because how could a weak guy like him control nine tails? + obito wasnt alive when tobi attacked konoha with the ninetails

uchiha izuna: distinct possibility of being tobi but one thing for sure, he was dead after madara got his eyes

uchiha shisui: could be him but itachi would have known for sure if it was him

tobi must be some split image of madara lol

i think its captain ginyu with his mind transfer technique; inb4 ino etc etc

or a clone!
