The only thing Oro showed that he had going for him was defensive capability and that skin shedding crap. There's no way he could take Jiraiya close range, and even from a distance Jiraiya is absolutely dangerous. Oro would have to pull out Edo Tensei with like 4-5 summons if he wanted to beat Jiraiya.

OR he could use his kusanagi which could deal a killing blow on jiraiya real easily since sharp

Jiraiya uses that toad esophagus prison thing. Dat ass. I'm pretty sure Jiraiya would know that although his ninjutsu capabilities are extremely powerful, especially with Sage Mode, he could beat Orochimaru by fighting close range. There's just nothing Orochimaru could do. He could have that sword, but it's no use if Jiraiya is 10x faster and stronger than he is.

You could say : Itachi said him+Kisame could only hope for a draw vs Jiraya and Itachi > Oro so Jiraya>Oro. Was Itachi telling the truth? Who knows.

You can't decide whos stronger than who by inference in a shounen manga.

theres no way to determine who is stronger than who unless they duke it out
or theres a significant difference in strength between two people like if u were to compare sasuke vs ebisu obviously sasuke would slam his face in -1 seconds

Doesn't it seem strange that Orochimaru was defeated in seconds by Itatchi? Are you all really suggesting that Orochimaru is THAT much weaker then Jiraya? If Jiraya> Itatchi and Kisame and Itatchi alone > orochimaru doesnt that mean Jiraya>>>>>>Orochimaru? I thought they were equals... When they fought they were weakened and still fought on fair ground. If jiraya is that much stronger then oro why wouldn't he just sneak into one of his many lairs and fucking destroy him. Stop him from killing all those people. Seems kinda dumb that Itatchi is WAAAAAY stronger then Oro and yet Itatchi would lose a 2v1 match with Kisame on his team (tailed beast with no tail) vs jiraya.

itachi is just overestimating jiraiya(since hes one of the three) he knows he can take him, he just doesnt want to get any injuries from a fight that shouldnt start
