pain wasnt some random dude, he was a fellow student of jiraiya

in our times that means jack shit. but from there perspective (even tho its a cartoon) it means more to them

Naruto did not see Pain as an enemy because he found out the truth from his dad, when Minato showed up in his head, that Madara is behind all the attacks.
Naruto decided to take on Pain's hatred instead.

Even before the fight Naruto have no intention of fighting pain for revenge.
He fought Pain because Pain attacked Konoha.

If Kakashi gets stabbed in the face by Sasuke in front of Naruto, then it could trigger the all out fight between them.
