he just had no idea that it would hurt him too, this is probly where your getting your complaints from

he knows it was a real rasenshuriken. hes just saying it was not to the completed throwable form like his rasenshuriken now

I disagree with that. When he fully mastered the jutsu he was able to throw it. When he just got done learning it and decided to use it in battle later that day, he couldn't throw it. He might have been able to create the technique, but he couldn't use it to its full potential (meaning, at a distance). Not fully mastered at that time.

thats why he can only throw it in sage mode right?

He has certain conditions for things. For example, he can only create Rasengan with a clone, yet even Jiraiya claimed that he'd fully mastered it.

he doesnt use rasenshuriken outside of sage mode for the fact that he will kill himself if he didnt get some distance between him and the explosion it creates

he almost died when he used it on kakuzu and he learned his lesson.

want it because he broke his arm or w/e not because he couldnt escape

broke his arm? all the little wind chakra needles or whatever hit naruto and kakuzu only thing is that kakuzu died and naruto didnt
