Picked up this manga recently...couple questions.

1. Does it ever stop being straight up goofy? Do we actually have villains who make legitimate threats on characters' lives? All of the "fighting" going on right now doesn't put a single person in harm's way. I'm enjoying it so far and all but if it's just ridiculous all the time I'll probably just drop it now.
2. Does Tsuna make the ever so stereotypical transformation from useless, hyper, bumbling idiot to badass in combat?
3. Is there legitimate combat?
4. Does Yamamoto sit there and pretend the mafia isn't real the whole time?
5. Does Reborn EVER become anything that resembles vulnerable or in the slightest bit of danger?
6. How many of the characters introduced in this first part actually stick around the whole time? I seriously cannot stand Lambo, I-Pin, Bianchi or that womanizing doctor for much longer.

Alright, well that's good to know about my questions then. I assumed that after almost 400 chapters of it that it became different. And should I really watch the anime? I didn't really feel like picking up another one because they can be time consuming while the manga chapters are much quicker. Plus, I BARELY got through the first 20 or so episodes of Bleach and it was absolutely horrible...don't know that I would have handled another 25-30 episodes of the boring introduction stuff. I might pick up the anime when it gets to the fighting and stuff that's actually worth watching. I'm on chapter 46 now (and I absolutely can't stand this Longchamp faggot I hope he dies) so how much more until I'm out of the water?

I was like wtf when I started watching reborn
I strongly suggest you to watch anime first and then continue reading. There aren't many fillers in katekyo. You can simply start watching from episode 25~30, where real story begins..

As it turns out, I'm glad I did stick with the series. Once the Varia arc started, I could have just kept reading and reading. I really like the fighting in this series as well as all of the abilities, gadgets, weapons, etc. You really never know what type of abilities could come from the opponents. Right now I'm in the future arc and they're just learning how to open the boxes with their flame. I'm going to assume that Reborn is just wtf insane hax gfg asdfasdf strong and Tsuna will get there some day.
