i dont know im more intrested in how zeref knows natsu

if zeref is truely 400 years old and they have a history togeather would one assume natsu is a lot older then were led to believe?

its also been hinted at the fact the Zeref is a Dragon Slayer him self . The black dragon that fucked up gildartz or what ever he said that dragon was an enemy to all man kind and is a serious threat it only makes sense that zeref was trained by that dragon

now the question is are all the dragon slayers able to lvie for expend periods of time? i would assume the back story went something like this.

Black dragon trained zeref zeref started wrecking up a whole bunch of shit but for some reason dragons are not allowed to directly interfere with the humans so the other dragons decided to take on pupils them selves

hence gajeel, natsu, wendy and probably a few more also, i would assume there is a water dragon and a earth/ rock dragon etc to make up for the elements

Natsu and Gajeel couldn't make it through the <80 year restriction set by Freed's runes so it makes sense that the dragon slayers really are very old. Natsu is shown to be fairly young when he comes crawling into Fairy Tail. If he really is hundreds of years old somehow being in the presence of a dragon makes your body not age or maybe Dragon's reside in another world like the last arc.

I'm surprised Zeref is so young regardless though. I wonder if the feared mage really wrecked havoc in that body. This coupled with the fact that Natsu has no recollection of living for hundreds of years, meeting Zeref, etc. also makes me think there could be some concept of rebirth involved with dragon slayers.

could be i could see the rebirth aspect the slayers are re born with no knowledge of there past human relations but retain all the memories of being with the dragon, and i would assume zeref was some how able to break the human interaction memory block some how is why he was all up on natsu, if this is the case that would imply zeref thought natsu was the strongest of the other slayers besides his self which makes sense seeing he is the hero of the show

i think Markof knows more then he is letting on about the slayers them selves also but just not raveling the information


i really like grays character it would be neat if he could be an ice dragon slayer just not aware but highly doubtful or the show will turn in to DBZ every one being a super saiyian

Doubtfull about Grey being a slayer seriously, but all those theories makes sense.. I mean the dark dragon teaching Zeref which would make him a Dragon slayer aswell, and if I remember correctly it was Ondine who tought Wendy and we saw Ondine speaking with Igneel and it seemed like Igneel was all mighty and everything, kind of feared by others which would make sense saying Zeref and Natsu are both on equal levels on powers, but Natsu has yet to unleash everything he's got.

And then there's Gajeel which ofc he's strong he's a slayer but.. idk they didn't speak much of him yet, I want to know more about him before elaborating anything else.

i think for what has been pointed out so far is Zeref dosent wish to live and can only be killed for some reason by a dragon slayer and he views natsu as being the only slayer worthy of ending his life , but thus far for the past 400 years " im assuming " natsu hasn't been able to accomplish this, but perhaps this time he will be able to probably due to his friends and the bonds he has formed with them is stronger this time then any other time and it will give him the edge needed
