They have age, but they never age. The age they have is the age they were when they died.

Because he is a kid, they even said he was the only kid (non metaphorically) put into the ranks of captain. He's a kid cause he died when he was a kid, they never age or grow older so they stay a kid, adult, or teenager in soul society. Like zaraki's vice-captain is a kid.
