itachi wanted his death to be used as a platform for sasuke to gain mass power and return to the leaf as a hero not a rouge ninja
but madara butted in to manipulate sasuke into helping him destroy the leaf

And will a filler arc start now or something?
my guess is filler will start soon sasuke story isnt quite done yet before it goes back to naruto,
my guess there going to finish sasuke story then make a filler out of naruto he is about to go and do some more training make him into the filler during the training or before it
