Itachi was in the clan, but he was more loyal to the Leaf because he didn't want anymore violence because of the war he'd been through. He knew about the plan (obviously) but relayed it to the higher ups in the village.

he doesnt have any eyes to transplant....besides he is the type to sit in the shadows and allow others to fight for him....hence his ressurect jutsu

If Naruto gets the Sharingan or Rinnegan... it's fucking over. I don't think it'll happen personally, but I can't exactly rule it out either.
