So I just finished watching SaO which is basically my first anime not sure how I feel about animes yet but is there any others like SaO I should try to see if I want to start getting into it or not?

Looking for a new anime.

I've liked Samurai Champloo, Claymore, Basilisk, Naruto, Steins Gate, Death Note, Love Hina, Vampire Rosario. Just looking for something to kill some time, preferably a longer series. Generally prefer anime in a older historical context, supernatural or magical, swords etc.

so as a fan of the mecha genre i have never seen neon genesis evangelion.
Been meaning to sit down and watch it but then i saw it had a few movies.
Do the movies just continue off after the series ends or are they just recaps?
