Saw clips of this and wasnt really a fan. Plus im not a huge fan of mecha.

im not a fan of mech either. heck, im not a fan of shoenen action shows period

TTGL for the first half is pretty much in that vein. i struggled to get through them. But the struggle was so worth it. TTGL ascends from just an "action anime" to something larger than life, literally. The last 1/3 of the show is beyond epic and one of those "must-see" shows for anime viewers of any experience level.

themes of: overcoming adversity, saving humanity, friendship, romance, loyalty, honesty to self, etc..wut more cud u ask for?
