also you should put yourself in odas prospective or any great author.
im sure thousands of fans including me would love to see what happens next, but in reality something historic just happened,(ace and blackbeard died, huge battle pirates vs marines)
they have to change the pace, i dont really know how to explain it but if amazing things keep happening over and over you would probably get sick of it (the effect might not be as epic) or the author might feel so much pressure making it not as good as he could make it.
also knowning about the past makes things that are in the present or in the future make sense or even better.
its like revealing a part of a painting that was black prior, its not all bad, i think people are just being greedy or taking this amazing story for granted.
