That is true. They need to teach him how to use it when ever he needs it, not because its become a lost cause.
Only time he used it was when he fought the two sisters, saved bon clay from those stupid wolves and got to stop the two man who were going to kill ace.
So, if he has the king disposition, he needs somone that has it to teach him, since it won't be the same thing as normal haki, which jimbei clearly use.

Since the king disposition is on a whole new level of haki, this thing may not be used the same way, and needs to be shown by somone who has it.
