Hm I just thought of something else they could do. During the war, Kakashi could bite the dust, along with possibly Tsunade. At the end of it they decide to want to make Naruto the Hokage, but he turns it down. With Kakashi dead, and Naruto not wanting the title (both, HIGHLY unlikely) then I could see it going to Shikamaru. Beyond genius IQ, has proven to be an excellent leader, decision maker, and strategist. I think he would make a fine Hokage. Obviously I don't want Kakashi to die and I want Naruto to be Hokage, but I think this is also plausible. Thoughts?

It seems like it's something that could happen. I don't remember who brought it up, but someone said that Kakashi might die by Sasuke's hand. That would probably be literally the last thing I want to see happen on the show, but I do believe that it's possible. Hell, that could be the final factor that motivates Naruto to kill Sasuke. If Kakashi died that way... I'd lose it. I hereby reserve the right to make excuses for Kakashi's death by Sasuke's hand should that be how, and if he dies. I refuse to believe that Sasuke is better than Kakashi.

Naruto can't kill Sasuke that would defeat the whole purpose of the story.
