Yeah I'll still stick to my original guess that eventually Naruto will save the world from something and instead of becoming hokage he chooses to just roam the world because all he truly wanted was recognition.

Then the series ends with Konohamaru as hokage lol

i dont think so , its more about chasing and trying hard to earn that title , actualy the series is based on that tiny thing , so giving naruto the hokage title will proly ruin everything
