IMO Naruto still isn't qualified to have his own team or be a leader. He would make bad decisions and probably get someone hurt or hurt them himself

i'm pretty sure naturo would get his team to the finals without fighting for the scrolls
first of all anyone from konoha in these exams would be scared about him but with his speed he would be able to get the scroll without any problem

Yes Shikimaru "lost" he admitted he could not continue, which is good for a leader to know, but had he had other members of a team, (as leaders don't lead just themselves) a random bum could have walked up and cut his opponents head off at that point...

imo Shikimaru won...

naruto only won because of the fox. the village leaders clearly saw his lack of skill

The village elders saw that Naruto could control the fox, even if he controlled it to a very small degree

they are lying and u just a played along

he lost and took no damage, thats why he got promoted.

he went ahead and assessed the situation, then made a reasonable decision that he wouldnt win based off the types of ninja they are and chose to back out
