Read Blame! and Abara already, I read a lot of mangas concerning this genre. I am currently going through all of myanimelist to find another one to read..meh..
Just looked through some of Shintaro Kagos work and I don't really like the art that much. They seem a bit too extreme.

You could try Blade of the Immortal or Shaman Warrior. Neither of which are as good as Vagabonde though (but they might entertain you).

Maybe look into Satsuma Gishinden if you're looking for something a bit more serious..
