Ive also watched the first 3 episodes of the Gits series but I was a bit disappointed because it wasnt like the movies at all so Ive dropped it.

give Xam'd (Bounen no Xamdou) a try. it's similar to mecha, but not really

Do you guys all typically just stream episodes? Or do you download them all? Either way, are all the shows subbed? The reason I ask is because despite people saying subbed is best, I don't like to read them, so is there some magical place other than TPB or animefreak to get dubbed anime? Or do they simply just not exist unless very mainstream like Naruto?

usually dubs do not exist unless the anime is older or mainstream. dubs take alot more work than subbing and most of the subs you watch are free fan subs. you can find dubs, however they are usually for only the older or mainstream anime's.

if you want to find dubbed animes you can always check netflix. netflix has quite a few dubbed animes

iso a new anime.

Just finished Code Geass. It was darn good overall and I cried a little at the end of R2 but I didn't really like the shonen style animation.

Other animes I have watched and liked are -

Death Note
Mirai Nikki
Monster
Elfen Lied
Shigurui Death Frenzy
Berserk
Gurren Lagaan

Not a big fan of 'fight' anime. If an anime dedicates half an episode to a fight and the other half to someone explaining the fight that's happening then I probably won't like it.

Thanks in advance ^_^

With this list you absolutely have to see Trigun if you haven't already. You'll love it.
Also Grenadier is not a bad fit.

Both are Cyberpunk. Trigun more than Grenadier.
