Probably because she feels like she owes him; I guess this chapter illuminated the fact that it wasn't out of sympathy (I actually thought it was too). Either way, she better not genuinely love him more than Haruto or I'll send a letter with Anthrax to the mangaka.

Assuming that she isn't doing it out of sympathy (we're not really 100% sure yet until Eba actually says it herself) there has to be a big reason / secret as to it. There's no way that she would actually like Kazama more than Haruto. If she did, there wouldn't even be a reason for Eba to even go to hiroshima in the first place. Even if it does turn out that Eba likes Kazama more then it's going to kill the whole story. There would be no point to her existance anymore except be there to be raged on. We won't know until eba spills the beans herself. If it does turn out that way, I'm sure a lot of people will torch that guy's house down.

I'm pretty sure those pages made it clear that it wasn't out of sympathy (that's the closest you'll get to the heroine's actual words in a shoujo manga). Like I said, it could just be that she felt like she owed him.
