late to the party but i finished it yesterday (i wanted to watch it all in one go) and im pretty disappointed
also i know im in the minority with my opinion so dont read it if you dont like hearing people badmouth what you love
there will be spoilers ahead so read with caution if you havent watched it yet


it was "only" 13 episodes but we barely got any answers but tons more questions
nothing really was resolved, subaru is still working to fix what happened in s1
the animations were really bad, i read the animators had to work from home due to covid so thats probably why
everything to do with the witches pissed me off. subaru didnt ask them any interesting questions (maybe like why am i even here?)
that bdsm loli and power ranger of love are hilariously out of place and all of them seem dull to me, but it might be a writing choice to leave them as neutral as possible before their motivations will be explored
subaru also didnt care that satella looked and sounded like emilia
also fuck puck for not being there (probably has a reason for it but still, fuck him)
also a thing in general i dont like about re:zero is the tons of unneccessary gore which to me are just a sad attempt of making any of the deaths feel meaningful in a way when in reality subaru just reloads his save and forgets about
it 2 seconds later. like that guy should be sitting in a wheelchair wearing a straightjacket after all that hes seen and not bouncing around happily trying to get into otto and patrasches pants

somehow i still watched it and found it interesting enough to be excited for the rest of the season, especially with so many events still unresolved
also to go out on a high note, the voice acting was really good
