doesn't really matter if they're an protagonist or like an anti-hero / antagonist role.
since i'd love to see more dark plots etc...

i'm talking about female MC's in series outside the norm.
there's not many.

There might be some series that try to be different with some original ideas but i find few succeed at being truly different/fresh.
one such case of a series really coming out on top despite how it looked on the surface and what people expected of it was School Live!
such a great series that many would probably overlook at a glance.

there's definitely a lot of female characters in anime, but there's few i'd consider to be real MC types.
mostly it's just groups of girls in comedy, moeblob's and slice of life.
Kakegurui is probably one of the few lately (that i've watched) that have had rather entertaining and strong female characters/MC.
