I'd disagree, but I can see some agreeing with you. I'm biased as Death Note Episode 1-26 is the biggest masterpiece in Anime. The cat and mouse aspect of Death Note, and the predictability of Code Geass in comparison is like comparing amateur to professional. That and the realism in the early stages of Death Note was nothing you could say about Code Geass. I like realism, and Death Note had genius written all over it. Code Geass had spurts of it, there was no wit from both sides, nor was the script as good. The argument of Code Geass having a better end of the show does not mean I can forget about the first 26. It had far more twists that were better, better pacing, and dat chess match story-line. That and the musical score? I'd like to hear your point of view though.

It seems the main point is fun versus intelligence. This is not to say Lelouch is not intelligent, but something anyone can agree on is Death Note had the better writing.

Oh and I hate mechas, so that part of Code Geass was a huge turn-off.
