You should probably go back n watch it again. They could do fusion for 30 minutes, but be in SSJ3 mode for only 5.

Who cares? Namek only had 5 minutes before it blew up... How many episodes did it last again?

at the time the anime was catching up to the manga so they had to drag it out. Dragon Ball Kai is like the normal speed version
