Watched about 50 episodes and I can see the potential. ''Old'' animation doesnt bother me at all, its more than fine imo.

Seems like it starts slow but I think just like Naruto, its all about the build up around characters and awesome fights/techniques and I can see this happening in OP, hence the potential mentioned.

I could see how ninja fights were cool before watching Naruto, but I was kinda sceptical about the pirate thing in OP. Down the line, there are swords fights, some people with unique technique (comparable to the kekkei genkai in Naruto), some characters with brute strength and others who are more cunning, melee or range, etc. The main character has an explicit goal to achieve, which he keeps repeating, and is pretty stupid/innocent/one track minded, just Like Naruto. Not to mention Luffy has a nice talk no jutsu too

Give it a try, I think its worth it.

Problem with one piece is that you get mad at the naievity if the characters and how stupid some other of the lines re, and sappyness.... it its worth watching nonetheless

for me naruto got worst and worst and worst till now I don't even watch it any more

one piece on the other hand has had some good arcs and some bad but it for sure hasn't went down hill at all IMO the arc it's currently in is one of the best it's had

but it's got like over 650 episodes and on going so imo inless you really want to invest alot of time into watching something just read the manga you'd be able to get caught up in a week or two of casual reading

Anime? I thought they were just typical cartoons.

Hell, the only shounen worth bothering to watch is Gintama.

naruto is shit compared to one piece

but one piece has its fair share of filler
