It's a problem because for people who don't watch anime/read manga. They assume all of it is lolis, tentacles, what you find when you google "hentai, and Naruto >.>

Yeah, a lot people thought it was weird too when my friend was watching anime, apparently he was doing it wrong though because when I started watching, I converted like 90% of my friends into anime.

I don't hide it, but I sure as fuck don't go around advertising it, apart from occasionally reading a LN on the bus or something. Couple of gits/lain tshirts.
Much the same as I don't go around blatantly advertising in public that I watch GoT, enjoy orange-mango icecream, or play shitty mmos a lot.
