is anyone good at this? i just had a quick question, and it's gonna sound stupid. but when i whine about how bad i am at drawing, and i ask people how to improve, they say "oh just practice over and over."
but how does continuously drawing bad pictures make me better? ._.

Watch many drawings from different persons and try to copy and build at your style.

use references as well.

I thought that answered the question pretty well. Back when I drew for a while when I was a kid, my biggest struggle was hands and correct shading. (Example, look how horribly drawn the hands are for K-On!)

People draw solely because they enjoy drawing. Since they consistently do it, they gradually get better. If you're impatient about it, then you don't have a true interest in it. Might as well quit now if it's a big issue.

Took me 5 years to draw mediocre, and after a 8 year down period of not drawing, I'm back to square one. I don't really enjoy drawing anymore, hence why I don't do it.

there are a few sites out there that offer timed pose drawing, that helps with posing and anatomy.
Also the artist themselves tend to criticise their work the most, even if they have shown progress you yourself might not see it as much.

practice is about the best advice anyone will tell you.
draw almost everyday and focus more on the things you have trouble with.

Screw drawing hands....

I tried drawing a skeletal hand just to get the concept and even that was irritating.

i enjoy it when i draw something that makes me say "hey i actually did a pretty decent job with this!"
but i don't enjoy it when i draw something that makes me say "i can't believe i wasted my time drawing something that looks this bad.. i'll never make any progress" because it's discouraging

if that makes any sense

Here's a good representation of what to expect if you keep at it.
