This episode completely twisted the plot... I'm left confused.

Feels like I need to watch both seasons again + OVAS to figure out what the hell I just watched.

im also confused after watching EP 1..

do i need to watch the other rozen maidens before watching this?..

if yes which one? help plx

Rozen maiden 2013 comes after the first Rozen maiden and the second Rozen maiden (Träumend) and is the third installment in the series. there is a third ova that came before 2013 called Ouvertüre but it is more of a extension of the second season falling between ep: 5-6 of the Träumend season.

i have the first ep downloaded from horrible subs but i have yet to watch it. i assume it will be confusing for the first few episodes due to the nature of the ending of the second season. or it could just be a flop, cant really tell.

2013 is not a reboot/sequel/and can barely be called a spinoff

it is based off the more recent manga where there are 2 juns an adult and child, where the child just begins his interaction with the dolls and the adult somehow contacts him... idk have not read the newer manga much and we have only 1 ep of the new series. The entire ep was exposition and TRYING to explain what the first season in 2004 did.



it would help a great deal right now to watch it, I dont think they will continue this exposition dump for another ep and it is a lot better and easier to take in the info if you watch the older series.

ah i see. i havent watched it yet today but what you said made sense.

i guess it was bound to happen. after all it would be really hard to continue the story after where season 2 left off..

thats because "apparently" season 2 is non canon. Like most anime that follow a continuing manga. The manga is apparently more sad and darker from the end of where season 1 ended. The anime ended to make it so continuation would be.... a dead end.


Again idk, because I have not read the manga myself.

They didn't go in very good order for the first episode to recap the first season.

Everything seems more twisted around than anything.
