It was definitely a cute episode. I can see where the smut may be coming, though.

Well, that other guy was shown sleeping with a girl, but it wasn't actually showing sex scenes.

I haven't read the manga, but I might after the show is done, pending if they cover the entire manga or not in just the one season.

The anime seems to be more of a romance shoujo, and there's a bit more drama/smut in the manga.
And they cover a lot more for the side characters.
Also, this series will only be 13 episodes so I don't think it'll go in depth for the characters like the manga does

Ah, ya. 13 is definitely not enough to cover all the characters, at least from what I can tell. I remember the first episode she mentions like 4 or 5 people. We're too far into it currently, so I can only see another 2 people getting covered appropriately before they have to move it towards some sort of ending. Maybe there's a chance we'll see a second season at some point. I won't rule it out, since there was one of Kimi Ni Todoke.
