well he did already have the potential before first meeting izanami, izanami just pushed that potential to the point where he could awaken to his persona
and who is to say wild card isn't predetermined before even gaining the ability to actually use a persona

No he did not , Izanami gave him the potential when she shook his hand as the gas station attendant .

Awakening your persona=/=is the same to awakening to the wild card.

The only reason Souji/Yu was able to make it to the velvet room first was because of Igors fortune telling abilities .

He warned him ahead of time about the endeavor he was going to face .

It was not until after Souji/Yu acquired his powers from Izanami , that he was harassed/pushed into the T.V by Adachi , who realised his failed attempt .

no the LP i'm watching just recently got to izanami and from what izanami said yu already had the potential and izanami gave him a small push so he'd be able to gain his persona

I've perfect playthrough Persona 4 a few times I think I know what I'm talking about , and I'm a huge fan of the Shin Megami Tensei universe .



The potential and the wild card are two different things lol . You don't know you have the wild card until your persona has been evoked . That's why the protagonist is "The Fool" Arcana, limitless possibilities . Izanami acted as the evoker .

my reply was focused on him having potential before izanami

Even then , his potential needed to be evoked , if he didnt meet Izanami he wouldn't of been evoked he could of been picked off by Adachi easily .

And that goes back to him entering the velvet room before actually evoking . Him being in the velvet room before meeting Izanami and realizing his potential . Is what confuses people in Persona logic , it's pretty much a clusterfuck that needs to be explained in P4G, especially since Adachi is a social link now. Even though it seems to have a lot to do with Igors fortune telling ability to forewarn Souji .

As of now Souji/Yu has the weakest wildcard ability next to Aigis.

Minato's is the strongest .
