Ya you should. I have watched alot of anime where the first episode was pretty bad but in the end they are really good.

I watched a couple of episodes, got uninterested. 2 days later went to read the manga, and loved it.

WTF IS WRONG WITH ME. same fucking story a couple less characters. I am mad.

It's pretty similar to the two he mentioned, so it's a good recommendation.
Don't get why anyone would like Gantz or Elfen Lied in the first place, but that's a whole other story.
