I was expecting MUCH more from Akira, and some elements of the movie didn't make sense or have a place, IMO. I'm willing to bet that the Akira manga is significantly better.

Cowboy Bebop: The Movie - Series was mentioned, but the movie was just as fun.
Damnit, there's honestly a shitload of good movies out there, I just draw a blank when I try thinking of them....Akira is a classic though...of course if you're a super picky neckbeard like some kids then of course you're gonna tear it apart, but as a movie at the time it was made...it's absolute gold, and it still stands the test of time.
