didnt see any topic about this popular shonen in the first few pages so here we go

started the 2011 anime few days ago, about to start the real chimera ants arc (currently episode 100)

was very very fun until shit got more serious, reminds me of one piece in some sense, no rules, anything can happen, every single character design is weird as fuck (including gon) but it still works wonders thanks to huge charisma and great backstories, world is big and dense, OST is amazing for the most part

expected a bit more from the power system since i had been told it was the best out of any shonen, still enjoyable tho

is it pure shonen? yes it is, 100%
will you get dissappointed cause of it? depends on your expectatives

things i want to underline:

- they dont even try to implicitly hide it
- grown adult man staring at 12 yo kids' butts
- not like i can blame him, killua is cute af no homo
- but at least try to pretend you bastard
- want to know his real objectives since i dont really believe he's only there to find strong opponents, at least gimme some backstory
- yorknew arc was beautiful
- greed island was beautiful, even tho final boss doesnt do justice at all imo
- shit got real with the ants: started out as meh, got better and better, now im really hyped out
- horrid designs for this arc tho (even seems like on purpose horrid)
- gon crying genuinely squeezed my heart
- killua crying too finished breaking it
- afaik it only gets worse and im scared
- missing kurapika
- missing leorio
- a lot of killua x gon shipping, anime studio rly tries to lit it up for some reason
- huge hiatus

- manga drawing style is honestly ugly

- there's been no new chapters for almost 2 years i think
- now i dont wanna finish watching it
- hisoka you are creepy as fuck

those are my quick impressions, any hxh fan out here? i guess ill finish the anime within 2-3 days, then read the manga, then wait forever...

I'll never understand why people watch things to complain about them. If you don't like it, don't watch it..... Not sure if you're talking mad shit to just try and get a rise out of people, but if you legitimately can't figure out the motivations of a character in a Shonen anime, I've got some bad news for you .

The Dark Continent arc (after anime ends) takes another "shift" in the genre. It has really interesting conflict that is mostly non-physical. The hiatus is quite painful though.

But I do suggest to finish the anime. It has an end, and you dont need to continue into the manga. If you love Gon and Killua, then skip the manga for now.

- guess what: im loving it
- they were supposed to be jokes, not mad shit
- if i wanted to talk mad shit about something, i would go to d3 subforum
- i do like hisoka character precisely because i dont fully understand his motives (which is obviously intended by togashi since it is never completely explained)
- but he is still a creepy pedophile and i dont think it was really necessary to use that as a narrative device (and no, thankfully i dont consider myself a social justice warrior, it has more to do with stuff japan sometimes do that doesnt make any sense)
- no, i didnt like a lot of character designs
- the whole if you dont like, dont watch it thing is something a k-pop 15 yo girl groupie would say
