deathnote managed to hook both my brother and my mother onto anime as something that's more than children's cartoons (my mother was a big fan of kira in particular)

Give them anime series that relates to their interests.

My buddy loved cars and I introduced him to Initial D and Wangan Midnight.

We both play World of Tanks and I suckered him into watching the moefest of Girls Und Panzer.

Before you know it, interests don't matter, they get suckered into animation as a whole.

I got my gf to watch Hataraku Maou sama with me to make her understand my anime fondness.

Was kinda awkward, but she enjoyed it nonetheless

Will probably watch Air and other sad animes I have never watched with her

I also don't know if she was giving out pity laughs or such but she promised she watched a 13 episode series with me.

Anyone recommend something to get a girl hooked?
