unfulfilled love gets me most of the time especially when one of the main characters dies but i also like stories about redemption and maybe discrimination. hit me with your best tearjerkers please.

I believe i've seen this but that was a long while ago. thanks for reminding me.

Maybe try Grave of the Fireflies, Hadashi no Gen 1&2, Wolf's Rain. These are pretty well known so you might have seen them.

thanks again. i haven't watched Grave of the Fireflies but i've seen it get recommended before and same thing with Hadashi no Gen. i think these might do just the thing.

also seen that and II. this thread has really brought back some memories since i basically quit watching anime and reading manga for 2-3 years. i'm not as into animes based on visual novels as i used to be though.
