From what I know, the English language has the most words, I mean we have words for almost everything imaginable.

So when we translate things over from Japanese/Chinese to English, we might add/simplify some words.

So if we make it more comprehensible, what's the hate with dubs?

Just looking for opinions and a good discussion.
I love dubs, but I'll watch sub if I've no other option.

the voice actors chosen are usually terrible.
the voice actors dont match the characters at all usually.

this is (imo) why subbed>dubbed.

How does a character match a voice?
I can understand see how a grown man's voice in a little kid would be wrong, but I've never seen that.

So far, all the dubs I've seen have been great.

Edit: With ONE exception of Makoto Hyuga from the Rebuild of Evangelion (the original voice actor wouldn't do it)...

does that make any sense?

I actaully like some dubbed stuff though like dbz,inuyasha
but most animes are better subbed then dubbed imo

Miss translations still happen.
But mostly all the hate on dubs is the voices which most people who watch subs don't know Japanese so I don't understand them.

Anyways I watch both subs and dubs both are good for me. Even if I watch it dubbed tho I turned the subs on just a habit after watching soo many subs.

I know that's a fact, and IMO she does a great job.

You know what I mean when I say a grown black man's voice in a little kid, it's not the same.

watch a subbed anime and u can tell that usually a specific voice actor was chosen for the part.
watch the same one dubbed and it sounds like they just picked some random person with no experience.

Funimation does alot of the dubbing, and I like them
I really don't think they pick a random person, and they choose specific people.

While some actors do A LOT of voices, they still match fine to me.
Watching Berserk now, nothing seems out of place IMO

I have to say tho there are a lot of really good dubs out there and compared to years ago they are way better than before.
