Ive watched Game of Thrones and up to season 6 i would say was the best series ive ever watched. Ive also watched the Witcher ( good but not as good as GoT) Which would you say is on par or better than GOT that I should watch next? Vikings or the Last kingdom or ?
Next question rank those 4 tv shows from best to worst
ranking:
1.)
Game of Thrones (the last season is terrible but you should still watch to finish and then you can always just rewatch the first 5-6 seasons because even with a terribly disappointing ending, this still remains one of the greatest shows ever and the early seasons are the best anyways. I would say season 1-4 is most entertaining.
2.)
Vikings (at least first few seasons, similar to game of thrones.)
First few seasons are awesome to watch, the fights in the beginning a small letdown because you are used to things like battle of basterds from GOT and then you suddenly see a 10v10 "battle" lol.
but it gets better too and dialogues, story and characters are well written. Ragnar Lothbrok is my favorite character of the show and I also like his first wife a lot. I would normally put witcher the animated movie on rank 2 but overall, vikings' first seasons are more "long-term" than a simple 2 h movie
3.)
Witcher so far I did not like many scenes from the regular witcher with henry cavill even though he is basically the perfect cast it seems. Great fights and episodes mixed into a bag with boring filler episodes and cringe-stuff later on)
--> Thats why, if you can watch
animated movies, you should try the
animated witcher movie instead which is actually fcking awesome. ("Witcher:Nightmare of the wolf") --> I would rank first season of witcher as rank 2 on my list, but animated movie still better.
If there are current,
new witcher episodes ,then I did not watch them yet, but even though some action scenes are nice and Henry Cavill makes a great cast as witcher,,, but him alone can't save it...
4.)
Last Kingdom- To me it started out promising but I got bored and fell asleep several times in several episodes that I watched with my wife (she is into the whole medieval timeframe thing too, like in GOT, Kingom of Heaven (great movie!!), outlaw King and so on... She also liked all the LOTR movies.
She did not fall asleep but lost interest too, I think we made it to somewhere in season 2 before we lost interest.
Now that this is being said,
Game of thrones is in my top 5 tv shows, but not on rank 1
There are some shows that have a great great rating overall, because they ARE amazing to watch and rewatch.
If animated/toon shows don't scare you off (which they shouldnt because they can be awesome)
then watch:
Avatar the last airbender- great story
- all episodes connected so its worth watching it start to finish and not random episodes on tv somewhere
- elemental bending which has some pretty awesome fight scenes scattered throughout the show (no big battles, usually more like person vs person or 2v2 fights are shown)
- philosophy and lots of it. My favorite character of the show is
Iroh, second favorite is Guru Patik. Both have amazing quotes and things you can actually take home and use in real life.
- Some emotional moments that get better if you are more invested into the characters ("
leaves from the vine"...)
Rick and MortyThe concept of timetravel, dimension hopping (infinite universes/dimensions) and rick who is a good mix of intelligence, alcoholism, remarks and world-saving (or destroying) tech like his portal gun that he uses for dimension hopping, or his spaceship selfcrafted from just garbage that performs better than most spaceships and has seemingly unlimited gadgets..
The adventures are fun to watch and short enough. Almost every episode shows new worlds or timelines or something new happening where the use of some tech or experiment goes terribly wrong... Some are just adventures where they step through the portal and do stuff in another dimension or world.
In some they just mess with the president of the USA lol
Many episodes are mindblowing if you "let them"
the good placeThis one is not animated. But in my top 3 shows of all times:
Show about the afterlife with lots of twists.
"Basically" set in heaven aka "the good place" you follow Eleanor, when she just arrives there and is introduced to the afterlife and what she can do there for the next "
Jeremy Bearimies"
- This concept might be insulting to some strictly religious people or they might just laugh it off and all but I think that everyone should give it a watch and actually approach life in a manner where you just assume that the thing about the point system is true.
It would make the world a better place lol.
Short moment from episode 1 (or 2?) where the point concept is explained:This post was edited by msk123 on Jun 12 2022 01:39am
