Anyone else watch this? I finished it late last night and the movie was just odd. The monotone talking by all characters and the bizarre nature of the plot.

I've had this on my queue for a few years. Now I'll never watch this again.

It's been a while since I watched the movie, but I recall enjoying it. It's a modern interpretation of a Greek tragedy, but I forget which one. Look it up.

The Lobster and The Favourite were 2 great movies of the same director. Both have the same bizarre/surreal black comedy vibe. I haven't watched his other works however.

With what you and Iz4 mentioned here, I might give the movie a watch sometime. Likely during the daytime though, or at least when I'm fairly awake.

From what I have seen I think the trailer is made well. I will keep the movie on the back burners and give it a watch sometime.

Being from the guy who did The Lobster moves this off my list entirely. It had an interesting enough premise, parts of it were engaging and interesting, but being original never makes something good by default. I’ll personally never understand the appeal of a movie that builds for two hours only to leave the audience with an ending thats equivalent to a homeless man shitting on a plate and calling it a gourmet four course meal.

"a surgeon never kills a patient, an anesthesiologist can kill a patient but a surgeon never can."

If that isn't the most pseudo intellectual nonsensical "look at how philosophical I am " bullshit I've ever heard then I don't know what is.

Directors like this are the worst tbh. Lobster was the same kind of "make film students seem deep for liking this" nonsense.

The trailer posted might not be to your liking, however if you have not already then reading further into the movies plot might help you get a better understanding of it. Maybe your view will change and while you will have, what I can assume, then know more than just what you have seen from the trailer. After all, from what I have read online, the genre of the movie has some horror and thriller to it.

The Lobster is the most tame ''arthouse'' film you're likely to find. I don't even think it qualifies as one, it's a rather conventional but idiosyncratically told story.
