I'm halfway through the season so far
It has a few good laughs in there. I don't have anything to criticize, but it isn't really sucking me in the way that previous seasons have. Perhaps its a case of the show having established its formula, so none of it feels fresh anymore. But of course the second half of the season could very well cash in on all the buildup, so I should really reserve judgement until then.
One interesting thing that occurred to me while watching: This is the last year that this class kids will be able to participate in the tournament. If the show intends to continue beyond S5, the new plotline with Daniel's son is the only way to keep it involved with the tournament. In a way, I think it's actually impressive that they wrote Anthony in as a minor character and didn't use him for 2 seasons. This means we have him to use a branch to the next class of kids. Though, it really does make me wonder what the show would do with the high school seniors. It seems ballsy to write them off the show by saying that they went off to college. At the very least, Robby can not leave the show as he's basically the backbone of the long arc.
