I love the books. I first started reading the books about 15 years ago. It's a really complicated story and can be a bit slow at times but a really good read and very original. Never thought it'd be on TV (it's really complicated) but here it is! I'm really looking forward to this! I'll have to start reading the books again lol, it's been a while!

The casing is absolute garbage, but I'll still give it a chance.

I also feel like the casting is a bit suspect. I do think Rosamund Pike is a decent actress, but I look at the rest and I have no idea who the hell anyone is lol. But I've read the series through twice and I'm a big fan despite how taxing a couple of the books are. Definitely going to give it a try.



I also wondered for years how they would pull it off with how complicated a lot of the relationships in the story are. There are so many crossing arcs and what-not that it is a common point of contention with fans. But I suppose if they stick to the meat of the story and don't diverge into those personal dramas that it could be quite decent. I also just finished Lord of Chaos on my way through my 3rd attempt at reading them all. I even got a couple buddies to start reading, and one listens to the audiobooks while driving for Uber lol.

It sounds very promising. I honestly don't care about the cast as long as they do well at their job acting their parts. I think having a brand new cast is better because I like seeing fresh faces on the screen. I am really looking forward to this.

You can tell by the casting that the showrunner cars more about social commentary than he does about the books.
