For those like me that havent seen it yet it premieres on T.v. on National Discovery channel tonight at 9pm est

Heard nothing but good things about it but couldn't find a stream anywhere so here it goes

I've finally seen it.

Heard people here call Honnold an asshole or something similar, but refusing to explain themselves.

It's an alright documentary, but honestly not that amazing. I'd recommend Meru, The Dawn Wall or Valley Uprising above this.

And to be clear, the achievement is mindboggling, but the documentary doesn't focus enough on the actual climb imo. I don't give two shits about his girlfriend or the fact he's buying a house.

I'm a climber tho, so that probably has something to do with that.

Thats awesome. Ive seen Meru, really well made. Gonna have to check out Valley Uprising though.

Didn't see it myself. As you said in the other thread, I am a fan as a climber, but I'm not above analyzing critique.
So, I'm interested. What made him seem like an ashole to you?

I figured this was about his girlfriend.
She should keep her stupid (albeit pretty) trap shut. He was already famous for climbing and soloing before she met him. El Cap has been a dream for years and decades. She has no right to emotionally manipulate him for her own ends.
